Austria’s low crime rate lies considerably below that of the United States or many other European countries. Vienna has been considered Europe’s safest city for years. Austria offers world class skiing. With countless other action-packed outdoor activities, Austria has become a paradise for the recreational and professional athlete: challenging mountain bike trails, moderate bike courses over rolling hills and flat family bike trails along river beds – there’s something for bikers of all abilities and levels. Others enjoy the great selection of rafting trips, canyoning, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, hang gliding and parachuting. When the weather cooperates, a simple dip in a clear river, a sailing trip across a beautiful lake, a refreshing swim or scuba diving adventure might do the trick. Horseback riders are always welcome in Austria, i.e. in the rider’s model village Ampfelwang or on the long trails of the Muehlviertler Alm, the Styrian Horseshoe Tour or im Horseback El-Dorado Carinthia). Golf and fishing trips to Austria have found an equally enthusiastic audience.
